GIS-Based Assessment of Suitability Area of Rainwater Harvesting in Daro Labu District, Oromia, Ethiopia

Rainwater harvesting is the process of intercepting, conveying and storing rainfall for future use as an alternative source water in drought prone areas Ethiopia especially eastern Oromia. The aim research was to assess mapping suitability area site Daro Labu District. There are various methodologies criteria identify suitable sites techniques rainwater (RWH). Determining best method or guidelines selection, however, difficult. GIS recent technology spatiotemporal data used factor influences runoff depth estimation identification potential RWH crop production site. influence factors consideration assessment climate data, soil texture depth, land cover (LULC) type, slope difference were used. total catchment about 156064.72 ha.
